April 14, 2009 saw a number of records on FORTS, RTS derivatives section.
By the end of the main trading session the trading volume in futures contracts on FORTS hit a record high of 2,404,545 contracts. The previous record was set on March 19, 2009 with the trading volume in futures totaling 2,063,915 contracts.
At the same time the EUR/USD futures showed a record trading volume of 171,509 contracts. The previous record was registered on April 9, 2009 when 151,440 EUR/USD contracts were traded.
The open interest in the EUR/USD futures also broke a new record reaching 8,311,557,448.76 roubles or 248,207,698.33 US dollars. The previous record (8,137,056,482.18 roubles or 240,897,400.45 US dollars) was set on April 9, 2009.
FORTS members also executed a record number of trades – 312,983 trades compared to 309,879 trades made on March 19, 2009.
